Diphu, July 2: Action against drug trafficking has been continuing by Karbi Anglong police.


Acting on a tip off, a Naka checking was set up by IC Laharijan PP SI, Manujjal Gogoi and staff in front of Laharijan PP here last night. According to police reports, one night super bus bearing registration No MN-01/1938 was intercepted last night at Laharijan PP Naka checking point and on thorough search of the vehicle 32 numbers of soap containing 400.3 gms of suspected heroin was recovered from the back side dick.


While in another operation 257.83 gms of suspected heroin was recovered by the police. Total weighing 658.13 grams of heroin was recovered, police sources said. In this connection, driver Kh. Suresh Khan (35) son of Md Abdul Shah, another driver Lourembam Shamu Singh (46) son of Tomba Singh and one Khalasi Md Bishabauddin (32) son of Md Islauddin have been apprehended with the contraband heroin. They were all residents of Kwakta under Moirang police station of Bishnupur district, Manipur.


During the preliminary interrogation the apprehended persons revealed that they carried the heroin from Imphal and were supposed to be delivered the consignment to Shillong, police sources said.
