Anti-drug drive continues in the state. As part of it, Algapur police in Hailakandi district last night seized 5.8 grams of brown sugar and arrested two notorious drug suppliers. The two arrested suppliers were alleged to have been dealing in illegal drugs in the Algapur area for a long time, police said.
They have been identified as Sahidul Alam Laskar and Iqbal Hussain Mazumder. They are the residents of Algapur Part five. The officer in charge of Algapur police station, Mrinal Das said they had banned brown sugar in nine small containers with them.
A case number 212/21 has been filed against them under the NDPS Act, police said.
