Diphu, Aug 28: The All Assam Motor Shramik Joint Federation (AAMSJF) has announced for a 24-hour wheel blocked from August 31st to 1st September starting from 5 am of 31st August to 1st September 5 am in protest of killing the five truckers recently at Doyangmukh in Dima Hasao.
The press note signed by Krishna Borah, president and secretary Krishna Bhattarai of AAMSJF strongly condemned the killing of innocent drivers. The federation while criticizing the militant outfit Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) said that they will never reach their goal by doing such heinous activities. The ruthless section of people or organizations can only do such heinous activities and such a group of organizations can never be part of the decent society, the driver federation said.
Meanwhile, the AAMSJF placed a demand to the government of Assam to provide Rs 15,00000/- to each victim families as ex-gratia grant. Besides, the driver organization urged the government to ensure security for the drivers.
