Silchar, Oct 5: Around 68 policemen of Cachar Police, led by Superintendent of Police Ramandeep Kaur, donated blood on Monday as a part of the recently observed Assam Police Day.

The camp was held at the District Police Hospital in association with the blood bank of Silchar Medical College and Hospital in saw enthusiastic policepersons from all ranks to step and donate blood for saving lives. "All ranks of Cachar Police donated blood in liaison with SMCH, Silchar on the eve of Assam Police Day and World Blood Donation Day at Police Hospital, Cachar. The blood so donated will be used for the needy ones and the force personnel & their family & friends in time of need," read a tweet from the Cachar Police Twitter handle.

On Tuesday, Cachar SP Ramandeep Kaur while sharing her thoughts on blood donation said "I have donated blood on many occasions and people should not hesitate to donate blood. It is a noble cause and a great feeling to donate blood. I appeal to the blood bank to utilize the blood units donated in the best possible way for the larger interest of humanity so that no one dies from the lack of blood.
