Silchar, June 17: A 62 year old person has been arrested by Cachar police allegedly for molesting a nine year old minor in Silchar.
According to police, the allegedly incident took place at Kanakpur on the outskirts of Silchar on Tuesday. Additional SP PP Saikia and OC Silchar Ditumoni Goswami arrested the person identified as Selim Uddin Laskar aho had fled from the spot.
Charged with sections under the IPC and POCSO Act, the arrested person has been sent to jail after being produced before court on Wednesday, police informed. Meanwhile, police informed that the medical examination of the minor victim has been conducted.
