Jorhat, Jun 2: Six more persons expired due to COVID-19 thereby raising the total number of cumulative COVID deaths in Jorhat district to 138.
Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman informed that Ram Parikha Prajapati (M, 70) of Rajamaidam, Jorhat, Renu Saikia (F, 59) of Lahingera Gaon, Jorhat, Kanai Sarkar (M, 65) of Dohaborachuk, Jorhat, Binod Roy (M, 40) of Fhansi Ali, Jorhat, Murulidhar Saikia (M, 88) of Pachim Bongal Pukhuri, Jorhat and Ankita Kalita (F, 15) of Kharikotia, Jorhat died due to COVID.
Barman stated that altogether 197
people were found positive in Jorhat district on Tuesday thereby increasing the total number of cumulative positive cases to 18922.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that total number of active cases in the district was 2359 while the number of discharged after recovery was 16338 in the district on Tuesday.
