Silchar, June 4: Dharani Saikia, an employee of closed Nagaon Paper Mill passed away on Thursday at around 1:30 pm suffering from severe heart attack. He was 57.
Meanwhile, Manabendra Chakraborty, president of Joint Action Committee of Recognised Unions (JACRU) informed the press alleging that proper treatment could not be arranged due to non-payment of pending salaries which is why Saikia lost his life. The death toll has risen to 88.
