Jorhat, June 8: Four more persons expired due to COVID-19 thereby raising the total number of cumulative COVID deaths in Jorhat district to 165.
Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Barman informed that Jayanta Bhuyan (M, 45) of Bahona, Jorhat, Mukul Kahar (F, 68) of JPR Junction, Jorhat, Ratul Bora (M, 61) of Tarajan, Jorhat and Tuffan Mahali (M, 80) of Diha TE, Jorhat died due to COVID.
Barman stated that altogether 173 people were found positive in Jorhat district on Monday day thereby increasing the total number of cumulative positive cases to 19886.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that total number of active cases in the district was 2232 while the number of discharged after recovery was 17417 in the district on Monday.
