Diphu, June 27: Anti-Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) operation drive has been continuing by Karbi Anglong police.
Four persons were apprehended from two separate locations along with banned NDP substances by Karbi Anglong police here today. According to police sources, acting on a tip off a raid was conducted by John Das, SDPO, Bokajan Subdivision today at 5 am in support of OC Khatkhati, Mwblik Brahma, SI, Charan Mohan Chetia and staff in front of Gandhi Garage and recovered three soap cases containing 36 grams of suspected Heroin.
In this connection two persons were arrested along with a 10 wheeler truck bearing registration No MN-01/9685. The two arrested drugs traffickers have been identified as Naoba Singh (36) son of Lt Chandra Singh, resident of Singda village under Lamsang Police station, Imphal West, Manipur and another identified as Mangijao Singh (29) son of Bobby Singh resident of Phaeng village under Lamsang police station Imphal West, Manipur.In addition to this, other two persons were also nabbed by police with four polythene packets containing 20.760 kg of suspected Cannabis Ganja.According to police sources a truck bearing registration No AS-01KC/9163 was intercepted during the NAKA checking set up at Laharijan by Manujjal Gogoi, IC, Laharijan PP in front of the Laharijan PP at around 6 am today and on being through search the suspected Cannabis Ganja was recovered from the vehicle.
In this connection two persons have been arrested and they were identified as Kh. Jogeswar Singh (31), driver and another identified as Tonanbam Tasken (41) owner of the truck. Both were from Manipur. The ganja was brought from Manipur and supposed to be delivered to Hojai, police sources said.
