36-yr-old woman with post COVID complications rushed to Guwahati via green corridor

Silchar, June 23: In yet another instance of green corridor in Cachar district, a 36 year old woman was rushed to Nemcare hospital in Guwahati via road from the Jeevan Jyoti Institute of Medical Sciences (JJIMS) in Silchar on Wednesday.

Following a letter from the Chief Executive Officer District Disaster Management Authority Cachar, Superintendent of Police Cachar made arrangements for the green corridor to facilitate smooth transportation of the patient to the hospital in Guwahati who was reportedly in serious condition.

Meanwhile, according to JJIMS sources, the patient, a resident of Bajarichora in Karimganj district was admitted on June 8 and was diagnosed to be COVID-19 upon admission. However, since her health condition deteriorated, she was admitted to the ICU and based on subsequent medical examination including CT thorax, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. "The patient has been admitted at the Nemcare hospital in Guwahati and she is now under treatment at the ICU for post-COVID ailment," a senior official at the JJIMS informed adding that the patient has been accompanied by her husband.
