Silchar, May 03: While all eyes were on the number of votes casted for the Assembly election during the counting process held on Sunday , there were number of COVID-19 positive cases which surged yet again in Cachar District on Sunday.
According to District Health Department, there were 148 new cases of COVID-19 with 86 RTPCR and 62 RAT positives.
On the other hand, even as there are 26 patients kept on oxygen support at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital, there has been no deaths due to COVID-19 reported at the hospital so far. There are 12,962 positive cases in the district so far while 1,2228 persons have been discharged after recovery, sources at District Health Department informed.
