1 dead, 1 severely injured in oil tanker-motorcycle collision in Karimganj

Silchar, June 8: One person died on the spot while another person with grave injuries in a collision between and oil tanker and a motorcycle in Medol village on the Karimganj NH 8 bypass on Tuesday.

According to Supriyo Bhattacharjee Traffic in-charge Karimganj police, the collision took place in the afternoon around 2:30 pm when the two persons on their bike were on the way home at Fakuagram village under Ram Krishna Nagar of Karimganj district.

The traffic official said that the deceased has been identified as Gopal Das, (40). The injured person named Sridhar Namasudra (50) has been rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital, police added.
