Assam trounce Jharkhand

GUWAHATI, Oct 24 � Assam handed a 158-run drubbing to Jharkhand in the East Zone U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy Tournament.

On the final day of the three-day match at the Barsapara cricket stadium here today, requiring 226 for the victory in the second innings, the visiting team was all out for 67.

Assam ended their second innings at 197, overnight 65 for four. Hrishikesh Das remained the top scorer with 50 which was scored off 167 balls and his knock was studded with four boundaries.

In Jharkhand�s second innings Hrishikesh Borah took four wickets giving away just 10 runs.

With this victory Assam collected six points.
