Assam Tribune edufair ends in Shillong

SHILLONG, May 9 � The two-day Assam Tribune Edufair 2015 concluded here today with several top educational institutions taking part in the Fair.

There was great excitement as it was held a day after the results of the 12th board exams held by the Meghalaya Board of School Education was declared.

The career and education fair is being represented by many select colleges and universities across the country. Some of the top Universities include Amity University Kolkata, Chandigarh University, Mangal Yatan University, Mathura, Ecole Hoteliere, Lavasa, Pune and East Point Group of Institutions, Bangalore.

Director of Impact Media, Indrajit Das said that the Fair will help the students of Shillong to take appropriate career decisions. �It is a great opportunity for the students to get first hand information from the representatives of reputed Universities and colleges,� he said.

2 arrested for transporting heroin

Aizawl, May 9 � Mizoram Excise and Narcotics department officers and Supply Reduction Service volunteers of the Young Mizo Association seized 70 grams of heroin from two maxicabs here on Thursday.

Sources said two drivers of Champhai district were arrested in this connection. The arrested drivers said the contraband was transported to Aizawl from the Mizoram-Myanmar border. The seized drugs was worth around Rs 3.15 lakh in the local market. � PTI
