Assam Tourism takes part in London WTM

GUWAHATI, Nov 8 - As in previous years, this time too Assam Tourism took part in the prestigious World Travel Market, London, held from November 4 to 6 � with a delegation of four officials and a cultural troupe.

During the three-day event, attended by over 5,000 exhibitors from over the world, the Assam pavilion generated keen interest among many stakeholders of the tourism industry.

On the inaugural day, Yogendra Tripathi, Secretary, Union Ministry of Tourism, visited the Assam Tourism stall and appreciated the successful conduct of roadshows in Rome and Barcelona. On November 5, at the India Tourism night organised by the Ministry, a three-member cultural troupe of actors Barsha Rani Bishaya, Nishita Goswami and Tanvi Sarma presented a vibrant Bihu dance performance. The cultural troupe also performed at the India Tourism pavilion during the event.

Officials of two prominent stakeholders from the tourism industry of Assam � Assam Bengal Navigation Ltd and Purvi Discovery Ltd � were also present at the event in London, and interacted with several potential international tour operators.
