Assam to take on Haryana in Silchar

SILCHAR, Nov 4 - The Silchar District Sports Association is all set to host the Plate B group match between home team Assam and Haryana in the Col CK Nayudu U-23 cricket trophy which will be played at the SM Dev stadium here from November 7.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Babul Hore, secretary, Silchar DSA said that the teams will be arriving on by Friday and preparations are afoot to make the conditions match-ready. �We are making all efforts to conduct prestigious trophy in smooth manner. All aspects of the game are being looked after by respective sub-committees and we hope that cricket lovers will get a good match to begin the session,� Hore said. DSA president Badal Dey urged the people to come to the ground to watch local boy Abhay Jadhav play in the match.

Chandan Sharma, ground secretary said that the pitch will play its part in the match and if the batsman can apply themselves, the match will yield a result.
