GUWAHATI, Dec 22 - The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has announced the State senior team for the BCCI�s Syed Mushtaq Ali (T-20) Trophy Tournament to be held in January. Assam will start their campaign on January 10 against Hyderabad at Kolkata.
Assam has been clubbed with Jharkhand, Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Hyderabad in Group B. Altogether 30 state teams are placed in Elite Group (six each) while eight teams are in Plate Group. Top two teams from each group will qualify for the knock-out stage.
BCCI has already announced the schedule for the tournament and accordingly the group league matches will be held from January 10 at Bengaluru (Gr-A), Kolkata (Gr-B), Vadodara (Gr-C), Indore (Gr-D), Mumbai (Gr-E), Chennai (Plate).
The entire knock-out matches will be played at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad and the final is slated for January 31.
