GUWAHATI, March 2 � Assam Cricket Association (ACA), which earlier announced Rs 50,000 each to all the members of the Assam Vijay Hazare team for entering into the semifinal, today declared that, after entering the final all the team members will be awarded Rs 1 lakh each.
A jubilant ACA secretary Bikash Baruah said after Assam�s historic victory all the ACA members and the people of Assam are proud of the team. ACA president Gautom Roy and vice-president Niloy Dutta, who is in USA, congratulated the team on behalf of the State cricket body.
A festive atmosphere engulfed the RG Baruah Sports Complex. Immediately after the news of Assam�s victory reached here, crackers were burst inside the complex.
Shower of praise came in for the tremendous show from all circles. Senior cricketers like Bimal Bharali, Mukut Das, Naba Konwar, Nagesh Singh, Ratul Das, Gautam Dutta, Zaved Zaman, Rajesh Bora and many more from all over the State praised the team. Former Assam Ranji captain Biswajit Mazumdar and his Oil India Limited team also congratulated Abu Neschi Ahmed-led Assam team for entering Vijay Hazare Trophy final.
Bikash Baruah said, former Test players Lalchand Rajput and Wasim Jaffar have conveyed their congratulatory messages to him. Baruah hoped tomorrow also Assam will be able to continue this form against star studded Delhi.
Assam captain Abu Neschim Ahmed and coaches Subharajit Saikia and Subhadip Ghosh praised the team members for their spirited show in the match. They said that all the team members have adequate experience and confidence which will help them in performing well tomorrow.
