Assam team leaves for NE Olympic

GUWAHATI, Oct 22 - A 238-member Assam team left for Imphal this evening to take part in the maiden edition of the North East Olympic Games scheduled to be held in Imphal from October 24 to 28.

The Assam Olympic Association (AOA) has arranged six buses to take the team to Imphal. The AOA president Rokybul Hussaian informed that Assam will take part in athletics (35), archery (26), badminton (10), shooting (14), taekwondo (22), boxing (19), weightlifting (18), wushu (25), judo (12), football (men and women 36), table tennis (10), karate (10).

Anup Choudhury has been appointed as the Chef-de-Mission of the team while L Hemanta Singh and Pradip Hazarika will be his deputy. Other officials are Raj Kakati, Gautam Choudhury.
