GUWAHATI, Dec 2 - The Assam postal men and women table tennis teams are participating in the 32nd All India Postal Table Tennis Championship which got under way at the KD Singh Babu Stadium, Lucknow , Uttar Pradesh today.
The championship was inaugurated by Chief Postmaster General, UP circle, Dr YP Rai.
A total of 17 teams: Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh are taking part in the championship, stated a release issued here today.
The members of the Assam team: (Men) Kaushik Kr Phukan (captain), Paras Pratim Baruah, El Syed Mustafa Hussain, Apratim Gogoi, Radheshyam Sahu. (Women) Konoki Mahanta, Murchana Gohain, Karishma Azmi. (Veteran) Kinshuk Bhattacharjee. Manager: Bijoy Mazumdar.
Anup Lahoty school sports
GUWAHATI, Dec 2: The league stage matches in tennis, basketball, table tennis, badminton, pool and billiards, squash and chess were in full swing on day two of the 4th Anup Lahoty Memorial Inter School Sports Meet at the Royal Global School, Betkuchi here.
On the other hand, competition in knock out format in football and taekwondo were also in progress in the event.
The sports meet is organised annually by the Royal Global School in memory of Anup Lahoty who was part of the school since its inception. Altogether 35 schools from in and around the city are participating in this 4-day sports meet.
