GUWAHATI, Oct 19 - Like previous years the Vir Chilarai Sports Club observed the Assam Sports Day on October 17 to commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of RG Baruah.
In the morning, floral tributes were paid to RG Baruah by garlanding at the bust of the architect of modern Assam in the RG Baruah Sports Complex here.
Altogether 35 sportspersons, social workers and sports organisers were felicitated on the occasion in a function held at the office of the Kamrup District Sports Officer. The meeting was presided over by Ganesh Tamuly, chairman of the organising body.
