GUWAHATI, Oct 13 - Assam managed to score 195 losing all the wickets in the Group B Ranji Trophy match against Team Rajasthan in the first innings.
On the opening day of the four-day encounter at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam today, put into bat Assam were in trouble from the initial stage losing opener Rahul Hazarika for 6.
However, the second wicket partnership between Pallav Das and Rishav Das tried to steady the innings adding 63 runs. But after Pallav�s departure at his individual total of 40, Assam batsmen started marching back to the pavilion in quick succession.
The middle and lower order batsmen, baring J Syed Mohammad (15) could not even reach the double figure mark.
Rishav remained unbeaten on 93 which he gathered from 221 balls. His responsible knock was studded with 10 boundaries. But unfortunately no body could provide him the required support at the need of hour due to which he missed his deserving century.
International pacer Pankaj Singh wrecked the Assam innings with a five wicket haul while the other medium pacer Nathu Singh came out with two wickets.
