SHILLONG, Sept 28 - The Assam Rifles Inspectorate General�s Conference was held here at the headquarters today in which the preparedness of the force for any eventualities was reviewed.
The conference was chaired by Director General of Assam Rifles, Lieutenant General, Harminderjit Singh Sachdev. The meeting also included all the Inspector General�s in the force, nominated Formation Commanders and Commandants of Assam Rifles battalions and staff from the force headquarters here.
�The agenda of the conference included taking a holistic review and appraisal of the prevailing security environment in the North East and status of operational readiness of the force.
The conference also provided a platform for the formation commanders to project their requirements and aspirations,� Lt Col Rahul Joshan, Public Relation Officer, Assam Rifles, said.
He informed that the Assam Rifles Inspectorate General�s Conference is a periodic event, aimed at analyzing the operational, training, administrative and welfare issues with a view to ensure highest degree of efficiency of the force.
During the conference, the Director General urged the formation commanders to carry out an honest and critical self appraisal for long term betterment of the force.
He said the Assam Rifles has always identified itself with the populace of North East and ensured their security and well being and further directed the commanders to pay heed to the welfare and aspirations of the soldiers.
