Assam Rifles cycling expedition flagged off

IMPHAL, March 12 - Director General Assam Rifles cycling expedition was flagged off at the headquarters of Assam Rifles here on Saturday.

Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) Major General VS Sreenivas flagged off the Expedition. The expedition team from Manipur, comprising of Assam Rifles units under IGAR (South), will join up with the team from Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) at Kohima before they proceed towards Headquarters Director General Assam Rifles at Shillong.

The teams will spread the message of peace and harmony besides organising awareness campaigns on �Swachh Bharat�, �Beti Bachao Beti Padao� and �Jan Dhan Yojana� in towns and villages along their 540 km long journey to Shillong.
