Assam Rifles adopts Manipur village

IMPHAL, Jan 24 - Assam Rifles has adopted Loushing village under Phungyar sub-division in Manipur�s Ukhrul district, said PRO Assam Rifles in a press release on Saturday. The adoption was done under the National Scheme of �Improvement of Rural India� introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and on directions of DG Assam Rifles.

Accordingly, a medical camp was organised in Loushing village on January 20. A total of 60 patients including 15 females, 15 males and 30 children were treated. Further, Commandant 16 Assam Rifles distributed three solar lights and one Sintex tank under civic action.

Assam Rifles also executed a water supply scheme at Kholmunlen village in Chandel district of Manipur on January 23 under Border Area Development Programme, it added.
