Assam premier club final today

GUWAHATI, April 26 - The final match of the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) organised Assam Premier Club Championship will be held tomorrow with Radial Club, Nagaon locking horns with Gauhati Town Club here in a Day/Night encounter at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara.

�Prizes starting from the district level to the final match will be given away tomorrow. The champions will get richer by Rs 20 lakh while the runners-up will receive Rs 10 lakh,� said ACA secretary Devajit Saikia in a press meet today.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with former ACA presidents Himanta Biswa Sarma and Gautam Roy will be present during the prize distribution ceremony.

A total of 320 clubs along with 5765 players participated in the championship. Respective district champion will walk away with Rs 1 lakh while the zonal champion will receive Rs 2 lakh each. The zonal runners-up will receive 1.5 lakh each. The total prize money of the championship is Rs 92 lakhs.

The governing body meeting of the ACA will also be held on Saturday, in which the schedule for the year 2019 will be announced.

The ACA has also decided to provide former secretary Abdul Motin with a financial aid of Rs 15,000 per month.

The association has given a financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to former umpire of ACA Nazam Rasul (Babuji) for his treatment.
