RANGIYA, April 23 - Under the goodwill initiative of Assam Police to strengthen police-public relations, Rangiya police administration has organised a day-long event with various programmes for both police and the local public here recently.
The event, organised by the police administration with the focal theme �Police with the public and for the public� at the Rangiya HSS playground here, started with community marathon race in the morning. The event was inaugurated by Ankur Deka, a writer.
Later, a �tug of war� event was held where different teams of police, public, CRPF personnel took part. Musical chair competitions for boys, girls and women were held on the occasion. In the afternoon, an open house quiz competition was held which was participated by the students, locals and Assam Police personnel.
LR Bishnoi and AK Sinha Kashyap, both ADGPs of Assam Police also graced the occasion. Senior Assam Police official Pravin Saloi was also present in the event. Later, in the evening, a prize distribution ceremony was organised which was attended by Kamrup SP Partha Sarathi Mahanta, Nalbari SP Hemanta Kr Bhattacharyya, Kamrup ASP Nabaneet Mahanta, DSP Madhurima Das, Rangiya SDPO Pranab Pegu, SDO civil, Rangiya, M Bordoloi, besides other government officials and local people.
