GUWAHATI, Aug 12 - Assam Police Blues edged past Rising Eleven Club 2-1 in their Jibeswar Goswami GSA �A� Division Football League match at the Nehru Stadium here today.
The first half failed to produce anything spectacular and the score-line remained 0-0. After the lemon break it was Assam Police Blues� N Bikash Singh who managed to find the back of the net in the 56th minute.
Desperate in search of an equaliser, Karna Tumung provided his side the desired result with a goal in the 65th minute.
It didn�t take much long for the cops to surge ahead again as Joseph Maslai made absolutely no mistake in converting the 73rd minute penalty.
Rising Eleven had the perfect opportunity to draw parity, but Santul Rabha, who stepped in to take the spot kick, failed to find the target in the 86th minute.
