Assam players shine in ISL

By The Assam Tribune

KOCHI, Oct 5: It was a field day for Assam players in Hero Indian Super League as Halicharan Narzary and Pranjal Bhumij found the back of the net for Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City respectively here today.

It was Halicharan who gave the home side the lead while Pranjal managed to secure a valuable point for the visitors.

It was perhaps one-way traffic for the most part of the first half. Mumbai City had a couple of moments where they could have made the difference but Kerala dominated the proceedings right from the start. Similar to their first match, Kerala Blasters made frequent inroads and eventually got the goal in the 24th minute through Halicharan.

Pranjal who came in as a substitute delivered for his side when it mattered the most. Despite being a long way out and with nobody around, his long range attempt from around 35-yards found the net in additional time. His strike found the top right corner, beating the dive of the keeper.

Kerala Blasters had control of this game for the most part, but they only managed to score just one goal. Had a lot of opportunities, but didnt convert them. Eventually, that came back to haunt them as deep in stoppage time, Pranjals wonderstrike stopped the home side from securing all three points. The touring team was rather flat for most of the game, but it takes just one moment of brilliance to turn things around and they got that as the points are shared. The Kerala fans would rue the missed opportunities, especially Seiminlen Doungels chance in the third minute. Agencies
