GUWAHATI, Dec 8 � Assam lead by 115 runs with 7 wickets remaining in the Ranji Trophy Plate Division match against Maharashtra.
On day three of the match played at the Nehru Stadium here today, Maharashtra resuming at the overnight score of 114 for 5 in 48 overs, managed to add another 130 runs before being bowled out in 97 overs. AR Bawne who was 29 not out at stumps yesterday, batted with resolve to score 81 runs. He was well supported by KM Jadhav who made a well built 60. For Assam, Tarjinder Singh took 3 wickets for 36 runs. Arup Das came out with figures of 4/45.
Assam in their second innings, are 80 for 3 in 39 overs. At stumps, Tarjinder (35) and Gokul Sarma (5) were at the crease. CG Khurana of Maharashtra got two quick wickets of openers Pallab Das and Amit Sinha while Darekar removed Sib Sankar Roy.
