GUWAHATI, April 5 - There were a total of 31,38,554 farmers in Assam as per the Census 2011 data.
This was stated in a written reply to the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday by Agriculture Minister Atul Bora.
He said over 1.14 lakh farmers have taken crop insurance in the State since the 2016-17 crop year. Over 6.75 lakh farmers in the State have been given soil health cards so far.
