Assam-Haryana Ranji match from today

GUWAHATI, Nov 6 - Assam will face Haryana in the Group A Ranji Trophy match at Rohtak, Haryana from tomorrow.

It will be for the first time that both the teams will face each other in a Ranji Trophy match.

Haryana, after being separated from Punjab, played its first Ranji Trophy match in the 1970-71 season. On the other hand Assam has been playing in the premier BCCI tournament since 1948.

Assam has so far played five matches this season and placed at fourth in the nine-team table with 10 points while Haryana is at eighth spot. Assam posted one victory, one draw with first innings lead and lost two. Haryan is yet to win any match so far and gathered five points from four matches. They are yet to win any match and drew three.

For Assam young Rahul Hazarika is all set to make Ranji debut considering his performances in the CK Nayudu Trophy in the current season. He cracked two double centuries, against Chattishgarh and Odisha and a century against Jharkhand.
