GUWAHATI, March 26 � Assam suffered a huge 82-run defeat at the hands of host Odisha in its second match of the East Zone Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 Cricket Tournament.
Chasing a tough winning target of 193 at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack today, Assam were all out for 110.
Winning the toss the host team elected to bat first and gathered a commendable total of 192 in 20 overs losing four wickets.
Assam bowlers, who bowled satisfactorily against Bengal yesterday, failed to put any impact on the Odisha batsmen as all of them were among runs.
Assam batsmen were in poor shape today and baring opener Pallab Das (34) no other even reached the 20-mark figure.
Odisha off spinner Pratik Pradipkumar Das was in peak form and wrecked the Assam innings with a five-wicket haul.
