Assam girls victorious

KALAIGAON, Sept 29 � The Assam girls team has won the 3rd National Tchouk-ball championship by defeating Maharastra, while the boys team lost to Kerela in the boys final.The National Tchouk-ball Championship was played at Tangla HS School playground from September 24 to 26. Abhoy Robinson of Kerela and Sumitra Boro of Assam have been declared as the best players in boys and girls category respectively. Lakhi Ram Boro, vice-president of Indian Tchouk-ball Fedration told this correspondent that the game which had been introduced in India in 2008 had been gaining popularity in India day by day. He also said that both the Assam boys and girls team had been runners-up in the last year�s national game played in New Delhi. NK Pille,chairman of referee board of Indian Tchouk-ball Federation was all praise for the players of Assam.

Results: Boys semifinal � Assam bt Andhra Pradesh by 7 points; Kerala bt UP by 20 points. Boys final � Kerela bt Assam by 12 points. Girls semifinal � Assam bt Andhra Pradesh by 3 points; Maharastra bt Kerela by 17 points. Girls final � Assam bt Maharastra beat 33 points.
