Assam girl invited to speak at BRICS conference in Brussels

GUWAHATI, Sept 6 - Atmaja Gohain Baruah, an MPhil student of International Relations at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi has been invited as a representative speaker from India at the BRICS conference to be held on September 8, in Brussels. Atmaja will be speaking at the conference along with Gaitri Isaar Kumar (Indian Ambassador to Belgium). She will be presenting speeches on the role of the BRICS in the World and BRICS-Europe Cooperation.

The Indian Embassy at Brussels invited her to the conference in response to her op-ed story published in The Pioneer (August 26 - BRICS and brickbats). The Indian Embassy at Brussels is sponsoring her journey, accommodation etc., during her time there.

Atmaja is currently an intern at the Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi. She belongs to Guwahati and she is the daughter of Dr Acheenta Gohain Barua and Dr Chandana Choudhury Barua, Professors at the College of Veterinary Science, Assam Agricultural University, Khanapara, Guwahati.
