GUWAHATI, Nov 26 - With a decent 102-run first innings lead Assam garnered three points against Maharashtra as the their Group A Ranji Trophy match was ended in a draw at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune today.
In reply to Assam�s first innings total of 298, the host team was all out for 196, resuming at the overnight total of 160 for six.
Krishna Das again became star of the match as he added two more wickets today and completed his 10th five-wicket haul in Ranji Trophy. Abu Nechim Ahmed took other two wickets.
Now Krishna became the joint third highest wicket taker in this Ranji season with Karaparambil Monish of Kerala. Both have taken 42 wickets each from seven matches.
But the Assam batsmen failed to hit form in the second innings and were all out for 135. Rahul Hazarika top scored with 31.
Requiring 237 for an outright victory, Maharashtra were 82 for three when the stumps were finally drawn.
Now Assam has 25 points from seven outings and in the last match they will play against Bengal at the Barsapara cricket stadium here from December 1.
Now Assam is at the second spot with 25 points in the nine-team table while Delhi, also 25 points from eight matches, at the top. Three other teams, Bengal (25 points from seven matches), Karnataka (24 points from seven matches) and Vidarbha (22 from seven matches) are in contention for the knock out stage.
While Delhi has completed its engagement, Karnataka will play against Maharashtra and Vidarbha will take on Haryana in their last matches.
