Assam excise portal in race for SKOCH Award

GUWAHATI, June 27 - The Assam excise department portal has been nominated in the corporate excellence category of the prestigious SKOCH awards 2019 and has now been selected to be conferred with the SKOCH Order-of-Merit award. The award will be conferred during the 58th SKOCH Summit at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, on June 29.

Highest-ranking nominees were shortlisted and invited to seek popular vote online from their beneficiaries and stakeholders. Based on the jury score and the popular vote, SKOCH Order-of-Merit was decided and declared in advance. The SKOCH Order-of-Merit winners qualify to run for the SKOCH Award � the highest award in the competitive categories.

Minister of Excise Parimal Suklabaidya has been extended invitation to represent Assam in the awards ceremony.

�The excise department of the Government of Assam has seen a massive upsurge of digital adaption in recent times with the launch of the Assam Excise web portal for facilitating smooth flow of various public issues of registration, information, etc., in order to achieve full transparency in the functioning of the department,� the minister�s PRO Sailendra Pandey said.

He said the web portal, within a very short time, has been able to achieve the desired goal of the department � a corruption-free department.

The portal was nominated in the corporate excellence category of the prestigious SKOCH awards 2019.

SKOCH Award, instituted in 2003, is a prestigious civilian honour conferred by an independent organisation. It recognises people, projects and institutions that go the extra mile to make India a better nation.
