Assam could become an Islamic state

By Staff Correspondent

DIBRUGARH, Nov 28 - The Hindu Yuba Chatra Parishad, Asom, has claimed that by 2025, Assam could turn into an Islamic state.

Addressing newsmen here, Bolen Baishya, president, Hindu Yuba Chatra Parishad while expressing apprehension about Assam possibly becoming an Islamic state, said that increase in Muslim population in the State is a hint towards plebiscite for turning Assam into an Islamic state.

Although attempts to merge Assam with East Pakistan (todays Bangladesh) in 1947 failed, conspirators are still active as they are carrying out their plans to make Assam a part of Bangladesh. Under the cover of Shariat laws, Muslims in the State are having several marriages and increasing the number of children. As part of the conspiracy, they are also bringing in Muslims from Mymensingh, Bangladesh and settling them in the unutilized plots in the garb of the Grow More Food Product campaign, Baishya alleged.

He further said that talks about Muslim Autonomous Council, Miya Sahitya Sabha, Miya Museum, Miya Language and use of Arabic Language by AIUDF leader Badruddin Ajmal are also indication that Assam could become Islamistan in the near future.

On the Congress-AIUDF alliance, Baishya said that Congress has lost its secular character as it has become a partner with the communal party. Todays Congress does not embody the earlier Congress. Since they have joined the communal forces, Congress is equally communal today, said Baishya.
