Assam boy Kabir shines in Spain

GUWAHATI, June 6 - Assam lad Kabir Nath put up an impressive display by scoring five goals in six matches for Cambrils CF (Juvenil) which recently emerged champions in the Liga Primera Juvenil (Spain).

The team led by Juan Manuel Jurado and Ruben Boada finished the league with 22 wins, five draws and only three defeats, being the most goalscoring team.

Kabir, who plays as a forward also became the first Indian to score a hat-trick in Spanish soil. He played and trained with the India U-17 World Cup squad in Germany (Bitburg, Frankfurt) for one and a half months before getting sidelined due to injury ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup held in India.

He has been a part of several international football academies and moved to Spain at the age of 14. Prior to his move, he also represented Haryana in various age group tournaments organised by the All India Football Federation.
