GUWAHATI, May 28 � Assam won two gold medals in the 18th Sub Junior National Sepak Takraw Championship held at Kanyakumari from May 23 to 26.
Stating this in a press release, Assam Sepak Takraw Association (ASTA) secretary Bishnu Ram Nunisa said Assam won the gold medals in girls team Regu and Double.
In the Regu event final, Assam defeated formidable Manipur 2-0 and in the Double final, the State girls, represented by A Priya Devi and O Chanchan Devi outplayed host Tamil Nadu by a 2-0 margin.
ASTA president, State Education Minister Sarat Borkotoky and secretary Nunisa congratulated the team for the achievement.
