Assam Association Mumbai executive body formed

GUWAHATI, Feb 23 - Elections for the executive committee of the Assam Association Mumbai for the period 2019-21 was held on February 16 at the Assam Bhawan, Vashi, a press release stated.

The following persons have been elected to the executive committee. President: Dr Jyotirmoi Das (elected unopposed); vice-presidents: Aparup Borpuzari (unopposed), Prafulla Borgohain (unopposed); Atyujwal Deka, Binod Kumar Saikia (unopposed); general secretary: Omar Ul Majid; treasurer: Bishnu Prasad Rabha (unopposed); joint secretaries: Devabrata Chakravarty, Bidyut Bikas Chutia (unopposed), Rajani Kanta Borgohain (unopposed) and Rajesh Nandalal Puri (unopposed).

The following executive members have been elected representing different areas of Greater Mumbai. Bhaskar Jyoti Thakuria (unopposed), Manjit Bora (unopposed), Rupjit Choudhury (unopposed), Siddhartha Goswami (unopposed), Bedanta Bikas Kalita, Dipankar Das, Shiv Soni, Nogen Konwar, Pranjal Madhab Bharadwaj, Sayed Afzal Ali (unopposed).

Women representatives (no area restrictions): Mridusmita Hazarika (unopposed) and Ranjumoni (unopposed).

The election process was smoothly conducted by Dr Haladhar Dev Sarma, presiding officer, and Nandini Sen Sharma and Rimjhim Mahanta as polling officers.
