SIVASAGAR, Aug 19 � Situation in Assam-Arunachal border areas near Bimplapur, Charaideo subdivision of Sivasagar district is tense following exchange of fire last night between APBN jawans posted in Charaipung, Bimalapur areas and Arunachal police reportedly backed by NSCN cadres belonging to both I-M and Khaplung faction.
Minister for Law , Sericulture, Handloom & Textile Pronob Gogoi visited the area today and met the Arunachal Home Minister Taku Dabi in a meeting in Bimalapur TE Guest House and discussed about ways to bring back normalcy and peace in the region. A Peace Committee was formed.
