NALBARI, Dec 10 - The Asom Natya Sanmilan declared its annual awards at a press conference held at the Nandeswar Saikia Auditorium here on Saturday evening.
The awards were announced by Dulal Roy, president and Bipul Chaliha, principal secretary of Asom Natya Sanmilan. The Asom Natya Sanmilan Award-2019 will be conferred on noted actor Sayad Nazim Ahmed of Lakhimpur.
Similarly, the Mahendra Borthakur Award will be presented to senior actor and professor Parag Sarma. The other awards will be given to actor Pabin Sarma of Nalbari, playwright Pankaj Jyoti Bhuyan of Sootea, play wright and director Ajit Borthakur of Sipajhar, critic Atul Mazumdar of Guwahati, actress Bina Patangia of Tezpur, playwright Ganesh Das of Tezpur and playwright Nitul Medhi of Pathsala.
The awards will be presented at the open meeting of the 58th conference of Asom Natya Sanmilan to be held at Nalbari on January 2020.
The press meet was attended by Jadumani Baruah, secretary of Asom Natya Sanmilan, Jayanta Hazarika, secretary of the reception committee and Dr Tarun Sarma, vice president of the reception committee.
