Aslesha shines in national chess

GUWAHATI, Aug 14 - Aslesha Talukdar of Assam got 18th position in the 32nd National U-11 Girls Chess Championship held at Tamil Nadu recently.

She scored 7.5 points among 159 players. The tournament was organised by Tamil Nadu Chess Association on behalf of All India Chess Federation.

She was selected to represent Assam in the championship on the basis of her performances in All Assam State Championship U-11 categories held in March at the South Point School here where she emerged champion.

Aslesha is currently undergoing training at Guwahati Chess Academy under coach Pranab Kumar Nath.
