Asian armwrestling from today

GUWAHATI, Aug 22 � Assam Armwrestling Association will hold the Asian Armwrestling Championship at ITA Centre, Machkhowa here from tomorrow. Giving details about the championship, Pran Pratim Chaliha and Kailash Sarma secretary and president of the of the State armwrestling body said participants from seven countries have already arrived here for the meet.

Chaliha revealed that Kazakistan is the strongest team considering their past record. He further informed that 21 Assam players are in the Indian team. Assam Governor JB Patnaik will inaugurate the championship at 11 am tomorrow. Officials of the Asian Armwrestling Federation Mukhameoolla Agzamov, Djeenbek Mukambetov, Drexler Vladimir, Olga Taroslavfseva have also arrived here for the meet.

The participating countries are � Kazakistan (43 players), Iran (8 players), Kyrgyzstan (7 players), Uzbekistan (5 players), India (80 players), Iraq (2 players) and South Korea (2 players).
