Ashmita bags double crown in South Asian badminton

GUWAHATI, Dec 8 - Local girl Ashmita Chaliha bagged double crown in the 1st South Asian Regional Badminton Championship.

On the closing day at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium, in the RG Baruah Sports Complex here today, Ashmita won women�s singles and doubles titles. India, after winning the team title defeating Nepal, made white wash in the open events.

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma were present in the closing function.
