GUWAHATI, July 10 � ASEB Sports Club entered the quarterfinals of the GSA organised Kaamakaazi Nripendra Narayan Bhattacharya Trophy Football Tournament with a 2-0 goal victory against Maharana Athletic Club.
On a slushy Nehru Stadium ground here today, ASEB pumped in one goal in each half. Jilendra Brahma put ASEB ahead in the 37th minute anticipating a through from Moni Kanta Brahma.
After changing over the sides Dipankar Sarkar enhanced the margin with a beautiful volley. Receiving a high ball from Jilendra Dipankar volleyed home after making a chess trap.
The new look Maharana boys were little rusty. They managed to advanced to the striking zone of the opponent but could not hit the target due to lack of experience.
