MANGALDAI, March 11 - Defending champions ASEB Sports Club, Guwahati has retained the title in the 13th Dinesh Kalita and Achyut Baruah memorial All Assam Day/Night Invitational Prize-money Volleyball Championship, organized by Mangaldai Siraseuji and Rupahi Sanggha at Upohupara on Saturday. In the final of the two-day tournament ASEB crushed Ferenga Club of Bijni 3-0 in an one sided affair. Earlier in the first semifinal ASEB beat City Volleyball Club, Guwahati while Ferenga Club defeated Rengani Club of Tezpur in the other semifinal to set the title clash. ASEB bagged the Dinesh Kalita memorial running trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 10,000. On the other hand runner up Ferenga Club annexed Achyut Baruah memorial running trophy along with the prize money amounting Rs 5000. Abdul Baten of ASEB was adjudged as the best player of the tournament while trophy for the most disciplined team went to Rengani Club of Tezpur.
