ASEB earn full points against Sunrise

GUWAHATI, Sept 13 - Spirited ASEB Sports Club recorded their third consecutive victory in the RG Baruah Super Division Football League of GSA.

In a fast-paced match at the Nehru Stadium here today, the defending champions defeated Sunrise Athletic Club by a clear marginof 2-0 goals.

Playing a clean game ASEB went ahead in the 38th minute when Jwmbla Brahma shot home from a narrow angle anticipating a pass from defender Biplob Kundu. Rahul Das initiated the move from the midfield and found Biplob at the top of the box who set the ball for Jwmbla (1-0).

After the break skipper Sanjoy Boro made it 2-0 from a goal mouth melee in the 72nd minute. The ball entered into the goal deflecting off Sunrise midfielder Benjamin�s boot.

On a hot day both the teams toiled a lot in gaining ground. But the ASEB boys were more agile and accurate in finding their team mates. Along with Rahul and Jwmbla, Jessy Vanlalmuana, Rahul Das and Sanjoy Boro were also in peak form and shouldered the responsibility in building attacks.

For Sunrise, Nigerian Francis, Sanjay Nag and L Zwala were seen working hard. Francis missed the target in the 70th minute as he failed to push home in an empty net.

With today�s victory ASEB team has collected 11 points from six matches and confirmed their berth in the top four group.

Dynamao win: Dynamo Club rallied to beat SAI Sports Club 3-2 in a thrilling A Division encounter.

Till the added time Dynamo was trailing 1-2. But within a span of one minute they netted two goals to snatch the match from the jaws of defeat.

After a barren first session Dwijoraj Boro put SAI ahead in the 64th minute and substitute Subham Chetry doubled the lead in the 70th minute.

But the Dynamo boys staged a brilliant fightback and narrowed the gap in the 74th minute through Nobin Chawria. The match entered into its added time as there were several stoppage times. Nobin levelled the issue striking again in the added time (90+2). Finally Rahul Boro netted the third goal for Dynamo one minute after the second goal and earned vital three points for his team.

With today�s victory Dynamo placed themselves in a comfortable position for winning the title cornering 15 points from six matches. Assam Police Blues are at the second spot with 14 matches, also from six outings. Both the teams have to play one more match each.
