GUWAHATI, Aug 24 � Table leader ASEB Sports Club showed no mercy on Green Valley Sports Club and pumped in as many as four goals against none in their RG Baruah Super Division Football League of Guwahati Sports Association today.
Leading 1-0 at the break, the ASEB strikers fired three more salvos in the second half which enhanced the agony of relegation to Green Valley SC. After completion of their first round engagements, Green Valley are placed at the bottom with four points from seven matches. Sibra Narzary opened the account in the 43rd minute off a well planned move initiated by Dipankar Sarkar and Chayaram Basumatary.
After the break, Biplob Kundu made it 2-0 with a gem of a goal in the 61st minute. Biplob, executing tremendous skill, dribbled past atleast three rival defenders and fired home from top of the box. Biplob struck again in the 83rd minute off a set piece from 20 yards. ASEB earned a free kick when their striker Biswamitra Basumatary was brought down by Clearence Carter Ezebube. Biplob nicely beat the human wall and opponent goalkeeper with a measured drive.
Substitute Biswamitra completed the rout in the 89th minute with his individual brilliance. Green Valley players were impressive at the initial stage. They even created a couple of scoring opportunities. But due to lack of accuracy, Sanjeeba Rongpi and Clearence squandered the scoring chances.
Sanjeeba, Apurba Phukan and substitute Jibeswar Rabha tried their hearts out at the upfront. But their defenders were not in proper shape and left enough space for the opponent at the striking zone.
